Former President Barack Obama picks his March Madness brackets

It was a yearly tradition over the past 8 years. The President of the United States would give his NCAA Tournament bracket picks to ESPN for the men’s and women’s tournament.

The tradition has officially ended (for now) after President Trump declined to participate. But in February, For The Win‘s Charles Curtis suggested ESPN hire Barack Obama to create a bracket anyway.

He was too busy being President of the United States. To fill out a truly great bracket, you need to watch as much college basketball as possible and read up on all the advanced stats to find the little nuggets that lead to upset picks. With all this time on his hands, there’s no doubt he’d vastly improve.

Former President Obama has decided it is still his duty to chime in with his take on the debate. The President’s team released his brackets on Wednesday. According to HoopsHype, the president picked an average of 74.4% with his opening round predictions between 2009 and 2014.

Not surprisingly, Obama has No. 1 overall seed UConn beating fellow No. 1 seed Notre Dame in the women’s national championship. On the men’s side, Obama has picked the battle on Tobacco Road. He believes Duke will face North Carolina.

Take a look at the brackets for yourself.
